Lord Samba-Sadashiva
ॐ तत्पुरुषाय नमः। ॐ नमः शिवाय॥
Oṁ tatpuruṣāya namaḥ | Oṁ namaḥ śivāya ||
“Salutations to that Supreme Transcendent Being; salutations unto Lord Shiva.”
Pauranic Vrat Katha & Sacred Origin
In the Shiva Purana, Soma Pradosh is stated to be dearer to Lord Shiva than all other days. When the Moon God Chandra was cursed by Prajapati Daksha to wither away from consumption (tuberculosis), he performed intense penance to Lord Shiva at Prabhasa Kshetra on a Monday during Pradosh. Pleased by Chandra's devotion, Shiva crowned him on His matted hair, reviving him from death and blessing him with eternal waxing and waning cycles.
