The Yoga of Transcendent Analytical Knowledge
vāsāṁsi jīrṇāni yathā vihāya navāni gṛhṇāti naro 'parāṇi tathā śarīrāṇi vihāya jīrṇāny anyāni saṁyāti navāni dehī
(Hindi Translation)
English Translation
As a person sheds worn-out garments and puts on new ones, similarly, the embodied soul casts off worn-out bodies and enters into new ones.
Understanding the Deeper Wisdom of Verse 2.22
Krishna presents the famous metaphor of reincarnation and physical transition. The body is a vehicle or suit of clothing utilized by the soul for spiritual evolution. Understanding this liberates humanity from the primal fear of death (Abhinivesha).
Practical Life Application for Modern Living
Embrace life transitions, aging, and changes of circumstance with lightness. Treat your external roles as garments, but keep your inner spirit sovereign.
