yato yato niścarati manaś cañcalam asthiram tatas tato niyamyaitad ātmany eva vaśaṁ nayet
हिन्दी भावार्थ (Hindi Translation)
यह चंचल और अस्थिर मन जिस-जिस कारण से सांसारिक विषयों में भटकता है, उस-उस से इसे रोककर बार-बार आत्मा में ही स्थिर करना चाहिए।
English Translation
From wherever the fickle and unsteady mind wanders away due to its restless nature, one must restrain it and bring it back again and again under the control of the Self.
Understanding the Deeper Wisdom of Verse 6.26
Krishna validates the universal human challenge: the mind is naturally restless (Chanchala). Meditation is not the immediate elimination of thoughts, but the gentle, patient act of noticing wandering and returning focus to the center.
Practical Life Application for Modern Living
Do not get frustrated when your attention wanders during meditation or work. The moment you notice wandering is a victory—simply bring your focus back gently.
